1. Enter measured panes
Add width, height, and quantity for each unique size. Use Groups only when panes need room, elevation, phase, or area labels.
2. Choose a standard planning mode
- Single-Roll: select one standard width.
- Multi-Roll: select at least two standard widths. It does not model finite inventory lengths.
- Film on Hand, Shop: enter each physical roll with its actual usable width and positive usable length.
3. Create the cut plan
Create the optimized result for the current pane geometry and quantities. This uses one cut plan from the applicable Solo allowance or Flex pack. Shop includes cut plans for normal shop use subject to fair-use restrictions.
4. Compare and save
Confirm complete fit, orientation, planned footage, efficiency, and cut-layout waste. Select and save the plan the shop intends to review for handoff.
5. Generate the core output
Use the Visual Cut Diagram and Window List to review pane placement, dimensions, quantities, and labels with the person preparing the film.
6. Reopen when needed
Reopening saved results, changing result views, reviewing diagrams, and printing do not use another cut plan. Add, remove, or change valid pane dimensions or quantities and generate again when the physical inputs change.
Optional Shop extensions
Scopes, Film on Hand, Film Catalog, estimates, customer responses, Film Handler planning, Film Order Sheets, Job Photos, Sun Map, and combined output can be used independently as needed. Core planning does not require every Shop setting or module to be configured.
Mobile and installed access
Precision Film Systems runs in a compatible mobile browser and can be installed as a Progressive Web App without a traditional app-store download. It is online-first. Installation does not provide full offline access to private jobs, optimization, or synchronization.
Review the verified calculation controls and the plan-currentness model before production use.
