About Precision Film Systems

Built from real flat-glass estimating and installation work.

Precision Film Systems is flat-glass job-planning software created by founder Adam Collins after more than 10 years working through the same measurement, material, estimating, and installation decisions the software is built to support.

The origin

The first question was about the roll.

Adam began planning Precision Film Systems in 2024 while estimating and installing flat-glass window film through a small shop. The first goal was practical: take the measured panes and quickly compare standard roll widths before deciding what material to order.

Development began in summer 2025. What started as a way to see the most efficient roll-width outcome grew into a connected planning system for the information surrounding the cut plan—pane measurements, groups and scopes, film details, partial rolls, estimating, diagrams, production planning, photos, notes, and job output.

Precision Film Systems LLC was founded in Kentucky in 2026. The product remains focused on the flat-glass planning work between measurement, material decisions, the customer estimate, and production.

Development timeline

Field problem first. Software second.

  1. Planning begins

The idea starts with a recurring material question from real estimating and installation work.

  2. Development starts

The first working system takes shape around measured panes, standard roll widths, and cut-plan results.

  3. The company is founded

Precision Film Systems LLC formalizes the product and its broader flat-glass job-planning direction.

Founder

Adam Collins

Founder of Precision Film Systems · Kentucky, USA

Adam brings more than 10 years of flat-glass window-film experience from operating a small shop and working directly with estimating and installation. Precision Film Systems was created first for that work—not as a general software concept looking for an industry.

The product is built around the details that determine whether a measured job can move forward clearly: how the panes fit standard rolls, what the material comparison actually shows, and how the selected plan carries into estimating and production.

Who it serves

For people responsible for real flat-glass jobs.

Precision Film Systems is geared toward small and midsize shops, while remaining useful wherever someone has to measure, estimate, plan material, cut, or hand off residential and commercial window-film work.

Small and midsize shops

Keep the measured job connected as it moves through material planning, estimating, and production.

Solo installers

Compare roll strategies and prepare usable output without building a larger office workflow.

Estimators and sales teams

Carry pane-level measurements and material decisions into clearer customer-ready job information.

Growing and larger shops

Use a specialized planning layer alongside the broader CRM, accounting, scheduling, and payment systems already in place.

A focused category

Flat-glass job planning built around the cut plan.

Precision Film Systems does not try to replace every system a shop uses. It can work alongside CRM, accounting, scheduling, invoicing, and payment tools while going deeper into the measured flat-glass planning decisions those broader platforms do not specialize in.

It also does not replace installer judgment or manufacturer film-to-glass compatibility guidance. The software makes planning information visible so the shop can make a better-informed professional decision.
