# Planning Modes Choose a planning mode based on whether material is a standard-width strategy, a finite physical roll, or a Film Handler production plan. ## Single-Roll Select one standard or Film Catalog width and plan the active job or Scope on that width. A standard plan longer than 100 feet is divided into individual physical rolls for output. ## Multi-Roll Select at least two standard or Film Catalog widths. Precision Film Systems assigns panes across those selected widths and divides any plan longer than 100 feet into individual physical rolls. Multi-Roll is not finite-length inventory planning and does not represent a persistent shop inventory. ## Film on Hand Enter each physical roll with its actual usable width and a positive usable length. The plan is constrained by those finite lengths. The rolls are saved with the job, but Precision Film Systems does not maintain a running inventory balance or subtract material after production. ## Finish Remaining When Film on Hand cannot place every pane, Finish Remaining creates standard-material plans for the unplaced panes. Those standard physical rolls become purchasing requirements on the Film Order Sheet. The entered Film on Hand rolls remain excluded from purchasing requirements. ## Film Handler planning Shop can use saved machine profiles with Single-Roll or Multi-Roll planning to create operator guidance. Film on Hand cannot currently be combined with Film Handler planning. ## Quick comparison Mode Material model Finite length Film Handler support Single-Roll One selected standard width No Yes, when otherwise supported Multi-Roll At least two selected standard widths No Yes, when otherwise supported Film on Hand Individually entered physical rolls Yes No ## Availability Single-Roll and Multi-Roll are available with Solo, Flex, and Shop. Film on Hand, Finish Remaining, and Film Handler planning are Shop capabilities.
